You understand that the vaccinations are meant to keep your child healthy and to prevent them from getting the diseases that young children are prone too. The same rings true for your pet.

When you decide what breeder you are going to purchase your English Setter from, you have to make it perfectly clear that you need any vaccination records that the puppy had prior to you taking them home. If the puppy has never seen a vet or had never had any vaccinations it is important that the first thing that you do when you get them home is schedule an appointment.

During your puppy’s first appointment, they will be evaluated and if they are old enough for their first set of vaccinations, they will be administered then. It is usually between six to eight weeks of age that the puppy will get their first vaccines.

After the first appointment make sure that you schedule the next one before you leave. Depending on your vet, your pet will be seen once or twice a year. It is important that you keep these appointments. Keeping them is the only fool proof way to make sure that your puppy is kept up to date on not only vaccinations but also any boosters that these vaccinations will eventually require.
