Crate Training English SettersCrate Training English Setters Crate training an English Setter will take a little bit of patients, a fair amount of effort, and some time, but it’s a great way to help make your English Setter understand what you are expecting from them. When you first bring your new puppy home, the crate is a great way to limit where it can be when you are not around to watch the pup inside the home, use this method to help your puppy understand the house rules. It is Important that the puppy leans rules, like what they are not allowed to chew on, and where the proper place is to relieve themselves. Your English Setter’s crate should only be large enough for your dog to stand up and turn around in. If your setter is still growing, choose a crate size that will accommodate its adult size. Block off the empty crate space so your setter can’t eliminate at one end of the crate and then retreat to the other.
